Welcome To Our Restaurant!

Since acquiring Sharpham Park Farm in 2003, it has been my aim to supply
the kitchen at Charlton House with organic, ethically prepared food.

We are now serving our own fully organic meat when in season. This can include Manx Loghtan and Hebridean hoggets (12/18 month old ‘lamb’), White Park Cattle and Red Deer - all chosen primarily for their flavour and all fed on our own organic spelt, haylage and bean meal.

Discovering spelt has been an extraordinary journey for me. It is an ancient, highly nutritious cereal, and can be suitable for those who have wheat allergies. The Sharpham Park Spelt mill is now in action and so you will be sampling some of its produce, either in our breads, pastries, cooked as ‘faro’ or risotto, or as one of our mueslis for breakfast.

Our Head Chef, Elisha, shares my passion for the ‘field to mouth’ experience and I hope that we can, over the coming months, pass this passion on to you, our customers.

In Charlton House I have found a restaurant where I am free to express myself, but more importantly use the ingredients around me that are in season. I hope you enjoy your meal!

Please look out for my cookery demonstration days throughout the year - dates available at reception.
