The Sharpham Park Restaurant at Charlton
House is renowned for its food. It has received many accolades
over the past 10 years.
Charlton House welcome new Head Chef Steve Horrell. Steve is a ‘local boy’ born and bred in Somerset. He has joined us from Babington House, which has also given him the opportunity to work at Locanda Locatelli, River Café, Petersham Café & Michel Bras.
From his training days at Trowbridge and then Bath college, Steve has developed a passion for Seasonal, Local and Organic food. He enjoys nothing better than taking the family to pick wild garlic or samphire from costal paths on family holidays or spending time in his thriving allotment. It has always been his dream to use such produce in his working kitchen so joining Roger Saul’s team seems an ideal fit as they both embrace the same ethos.
Using and supporting local farmers and suppliers, Steve also has the exciting role of being involved in the continual development of Sharpham Park’s produce in the hotel and at the Farm Shop and the Harlequin Café at Kilver Court.
Steve and the team at the Sharpham Park Restaurant have taken a whole new look at the way the menu will be changed daily to reflect what has come from the farm and local suppliers on a day by day basis. The menu will vary constantly, but the ethos will remain simple, with as few ingredients as possible but with the best taste and provenance. |
