WHY GYMS ARE ESSENTIAL TO OUR COMEBACK FROM COVID
Offering huge doses of fun and motivation, plus myriad physical and mental health benefits, gyms are the cornerstone of our workout habits. With lockdown lifting in many parts of the world, is now the time that we can finally get back to exercise in our favourite forms?
“When can we get back to normal?” It’s been the perennial question of recent months, particularly when it comes to our workouts.
Robyn's Story - Mental Health Awareness Week 2021

Janet's Story - Mental Health Awareness Week 2021
Janet has been a member of our Cookridge Hall club for many years and she knows first-hand that we're always grateful for the opportunity to help our members. After being diagnosed with high stress, Janet found comfort in the club with a regular routine of early morning swims, working out in the gym and socialising with friends in the bar. After the last year, everyone deserves a place to unwind and relax with some much needed me-time!
Bridget's Story - Mental Health Awareness Week 2021
What a 12-months. Here I am, just starting now to emerge, blinking into the daylight after a long, hard, very dark winter lockdown. It was a difficult time but strangely, I along with a number of friends and family have found returning to the gym this spring as difficult and unnerving as leaving it was just after Christmas.

It’s no wonder we’re confused!
On one hand, we have more information than ever before on nutrition and exercise but on the other hand, we have more misinformation than ever before.
With this easy access to a wealth of information, both good and bad, we actually end up worse off than we ever were before. Who do we trust, is there a quick fix, why does one article tell me to do the exact opposite of the other?!
A beginners guide to an effective warm up
How many of us see members or clients say 'I'll just warm up quickly'?
This normally consists of a few quick minutes on the treadmill/ X-trainer to get the heart rate up. While this is not inherently a bad thing, we are missing vital components of the warm up that will not only improve performance but decrease the risk of injury.
